A dear friend of the family is getting married tomorrow. Seven years ago, Father promised her that one day she would marry again and that her husband would be a man of His own choosing. He told her that she would love him deeply, and like him, a lot.
So much living has gone into the last seven years. Pause and think on that for a moment. One does not receive a promise from Elohim and then sit down and simply wait. Not only do the responsibilities of life forbid it, but people must walk out their faith while they wait upon the One who is called Faithful and True; otherwise it can hardly be called faith. Yet, to say that this walk isn't hard at times, would be a lie. So as days turned to months and then to years, there were times when she wondered if she had heard her Father's voice, clearly? If maybe she misunderstood? Especially when days or seasons of life would come that were especially difficult and seemed to mock her trust. Times when it would have been so nice to have someone to hold her in her grief, to listen to her frustrations, and to encourage her in the faith. Yet even during days like that, she held on to the One who had promised, knowing that He is, "...not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" Numbers 23:19 KJV
When "The Man" as she called him, arrived, everything became new. I have never known a couple to be more one in Him. Her walk with the Giver of Life is rare. It is on a level of intimacy that few ever reach, let alone abide in. She has been dependant upon no human for so long that she wondered how she would ever submit to a man's authority? This is possible because her groom is not an ordinary man. He knows what it is to die to his own desires, to walk in the light of obedience, and to daily work out his salvation with fear and trembling. He humbly trusts the One who made him, the One who died in his place. He talks to his Father often and he knows his Shepherd's voice. As she got to know this man whom she had prayed and waited for, Father would smile and dissipate her doubts and fears the way the morning sun evaporates the fog.
Seven is the number of completion and fulfillment. How fitting it is that tomorrow our friend will enter into a new covenant with a man whom she loves deeply and likes a lot. Just as He promised.

Everlasting Arms by Joshua Liebman
We live today with the everlasting arms beneath us; we breathe, we eat, we walk, we think and dream, all because we are sustained by a universe greater than ourselves and preserved by a love beyond our fathoming.
The Ministry of Friendship
I had a birthday last week. It was especially nice. Sweet expressions and acts of kindness were shown to me. One of the things that I wanted to experience this year was a birthday party. Not so much for my benefit, but for the blessing of others. I enjoy having people in my home and making them feel like the special, honored guests that they are.
Before the women arrived on the evening of the party for potluck and a promised viewing of the movie Pride and Prejudice, I walked around the rooms where we would be gathering. As I did so, I prayed that Father would join us and bless us with His presence in such a way that the women would leave knowing that they had spent time not just with one another, but also with Him. As I said the Amen, I knew that we were to spend some time in prayer.
When our meal was finished and the dishes were washed and put away, we relaxed in the living room to share more of our stories and laughter. At 9:20, as if on cue, the conversation stopped and eyes turned to me. Hearts quieted before Him as I told them that we were to spend some time interceding for one another.
Even now, at the memory of that evening, tears are gathering in my eyes. Our vocabulary cannot adequately express a holy communion of souls as they surrender their cares to The Only One who can meet their needs. It is unlike anything else we can experience this side of eternity. Without fear, a gathering of my friends shared their deepest needs from the deepest recesses of their hearts, and just as The Word made flesh promised, He was with us.

A Time for Every Purpose
Ecclesiastes chapter three verse one tells us that, "For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." Although a few years ago I was given a word from a prophet of the Lord that I would have a blog one day, the timing was never right. As the years passed, I began to wonder if I had missed something along the way. So needless to say, I was taken aback when He revealed and confirmed that now was the time.
I must inform you that my only real experience with writing has been through sending letters to family members and friends, so as I sit here on this rainy morning in September, my once familiar computer screen suddenly looks like an alien from a foreign land that I am meeting for the first time. My comfort comes in knowing that His timing is always perfect, this blog is His, and I am never alone.
Welcome!

For Such a Time as This...
Esther 4:14
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
